From Crenshaw to Hollywood: Two Days of Men’s Health in Los Angeles
September 28–29, 2026 - Los Angeles, California
Man Cave Health closed out Prostate Cancer Awareness Month in Los Angeles with two days connecting community screening, fashion and early detection. On September 28, we brought free prostate cancer screening to the Crenshaw Family YMCA. The following evening, we joined the Blue Jacket LA Fashion Show at the W Hotel in Hollywood, bringing the Van Cave along to keep men’s health visible throughout the celebration.
Starting in South Los Angeles
At the Crenshaw Family YMCA, we worked with UCI, the African American Male Wellness Agency, LISC, Uber and the YMCA to raise awareness around early detection and screen men in the South Los Angeles community.
The setting mattered. The YMCA, renovated with support from Russell Westbrook’s Why Not? Foundation and Jordan Brand, is a community space built around connection, recreation and opportunity. Hosting the screening there allowed us to bring health resources into a place that already plays a role in families’ lives.
That is central to how Man Cave Health approaches community engagement. We work alongside local partners, build on the relationships they have established and make it easier for men to access information and screening close to home.
Taking awareness to Blue Jacket LA
On September 29, the focus moved to Hollywood for the Blue Jacket LA Fashion Show. The evening brought celebration and prostate cancer awareness together, with the Van Cave at the W Hotel representing the work we do to bring screening directly into communities.
Across both days, the goal was to connect visibility with access. Fashion helped bring attention to men’s health, while the community screening gave men an opportunity to act. Together, these efforts showed how culture, healthcare and community partnerships can support the same mission.
Thank you to our screening partners, the Crenshaw Family YMCA, Team Blue Jacket and everyone who helped make these two days possible. We look forward to building on these relationships in Los Angeles.
